On Sunday 10th January, AFA-sponsored Dereham Town took a huge step on the road to promotion to the 1st Division, with a valuable win over their nearest rivals. One proud parent, who declined to be named, said: “It was a game of two halves, we went out there and gave it 110%, they ran their socks off, there are no easy games, who said you can’t win anything with kids?” The team’s manager stayed cliché-free and kept it short, just saying that he is proud of the boys and thanking AFA for their continued support, before walking away from the press conference in search of some lunch.
